I was fascinated by this traditional wooden comb and its handle design. The arms of the figure in the handle are supported by two signs that look like a knot. That knot is called the wisdom knot or Nyansapow, an Adinkra symbol of the Akans. I incorporated this comb into my work to show the internal struggle of facing oneself with integrity, and the search for truth
